Materials Needed:

  • Mercerized Crochet Thread — you may also use raylon thread —- colors: white, orange, red and yellow
  • Crochet Hook 6 — the steel one…it’s the tiny one
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Safety Eyes
  • Tapestry Needle - i used the one for cross stitch so that it’s tiny
  • Threader - to make it easier to put the thread through the needle

Feet/Legs

ch 8, [3dc in 4th ch from hook, sl st in the same st] COUNT AS ONE “toe”. [ch 3, 3dc in same st as first “toe” and sl st in the same st as well] do it 2x. sc in the next st until the end — this will result to 4 scs and 3 “toes”

Assembly! - please remember that in sewing the different parts, use the tail of that particular part. for the head, you may choose between using the tail of the head or the body. for the one you won’t use, remember to tuck it in first/fasten it :D

  1. sew on the feather thing to the top of the head. note that the “end” of the feather should be exactly at the middle of the head — in the hole at the beginning. the feather things should be nearing the face not the back
  2. attach the safety eyes. make sure it is equidistant to the feathers
  3. sew on the beak. do not sew the sides of the beak together, make sure that you sew it as you would a nose. the tiny hole in the front of the beak — ch 9sc part, should be openend. you can use your needle to make it a little bit bigger
  4. stuff the head and wings
  5. sew on the legs to the body of the chicken
  6. stuff the legs
  7. sew on the wings to the body
  8. sew on the body to the head
  9. voila! your little chicken is all done :D

here are some other pictures of little chickie for your enjoyment!

this close up might help you with sewing the beak. as you can see, the beak is not closed/sewn on together and you can also see the little hole i was “talking” about in the pattern of the beak :D

this close-up shows you the little feet of chickie. you can see that the foot part has three pointy things as i like to call them the toes!
