Counter Free

Materials:

yellow, white, grey, blue, black yarn

2 hooks: one smaller by 2 sizes of the other [i used: E and G]

fiber fill stuffing

one safety eye

felt

Head/body

R1: ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook

R2: 2 sc in each st around

R3: *sc in next st, 2 sc in st after* repeat until the end of the round

R4: *sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in st after* repeat until the end of the row

R5: *sc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc in st after* repeat until the end of the row

R6-17: sc all around 

R18: *sc in each of the next 3 sts, sc2tog in next* repeat until end of the row

R19: *sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc2tog in next* repeat until end of the row

R20: *sc in next st, sc2tog in next* repeat until end of the row

R21: sc in every other st

 

Overalls

R1: ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook

R2: 2 sc in each st around

R3: *sc in next st, 2 sc in st after* repeat until the end of the round

R4: *sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in st after* repeat until the end of the row

R5: *sc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc in st after* repeat until the end of the row

R6: sc in next 12 sts, 2sc in next st, sc until 2nd to the last sc of the round, 2sc in next

R7-8: sc all around

R9-10: sc in next 9 sts, ch1 turn

R11: sc in next 9 sts, ch 6, sl st on the 4th sc after the flap

For next flap, continuing with where you placed the sl st

“R9-10”: sc in next 10 sts, ch 1 turn

R11: sc in next 10 sts, ch 4, sl st it to the edge of the first flap

 

Arms:

Using a smaller hook [by 2 sizes]

R1: 4 sc in magic ring (4)

R2: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc (6)

R3: sc in each of next 3 sc, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next ch, sc in each of remaining 3 sc of round (6 sc and 1 ‘thumb’)

R4: sc in each sc around (hold thumb down to to the front as you sc behind it) (6)

R5: working in front loops only, 2 sc in each sc around (12)

F/O and weave in ends.

Attach yellow to any free loop from round 5.

R1: sc in same free loop as joining. Sc in each of next 5 free loops around (6)

R2-5: sc in each sc around (6)

 

Feet and pants

R1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

R2: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (9)

R3-5: sc in each sc around (9)

R6: using blue, sc all around

R7: sc in each of the next 3 sts, 2sc in next, sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2sc in next

R8-10 sc all around

 

Goggles and eyes

R1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

R2: 2 sc in each st around switching to grey on the last st

R3: sc all around

R4: using black ch 15 [or as long as you need to make it all around the head just before the goggle] sl st on the opposite side of where you started the ch

optional: you may print out your own logo for the minion, or copy the one in the movie :) you should use the felt for this, then attach it by either craft glue or sewing it on 

attaching:

[if with logo] attach logo to overalls. cutting a small circle, attach these to the top of the overalls [on the smaller flap] see picture. attach overalls to the pant/legs then to the head/body by sewing it make sure the side where there is the ch 6 attach to the 4th sc after look squarish by now by sewing it in place (use the other side as your guide). attach the arms to the arm hole. finally attach the google in place and add the safety eye

NOTE: FOR THE TINIER MINION, I OMITTED ROWS 4-5 AND 10 OF THE FEET/PANTS
